Expanding a standing cooperation agreement, 'Orange' Jordan offers scholarships to PSUT students
The President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, has announced that Orange Jordan has offered 27 scholarships to outstanding students at the undergraduate and Master’s levels to help them complete their studies in a range of disciplines.
Prof. Al-Refai added that the scholarships are aimed at students of disciplines currently in demand in the labor market, such as Communications Engineering, Networks and Information Security Engineering, Data Science and other related disciplines. He pointed out that the selection of students will be based on conditions previously established by a panel of experts from both parties.
Prof. Al-Refai highlighted the importance of the cooperation between the University and Orange Jordan, pointing out that the company's willingness to help outstanding PSUT students to complete their studies is an indication of its appreciation for the excellent reputation of the University’s graduates and how quickly they make achievements in the local market. He thanked Orange Jordan for their support and looked forward to further cooperation between the two parties.
CEO of Orange, Terry Marini, said that this partnership had been ongoing for several years, built upon the two parties sharing the same idea to achieve the same goal, which is to provide support to those who excel through these scholarships. He assured those present that Orange Jordan will continue to concentrate on the education sector and students of different levels, firm in the belief that they have the ability to initiate change. Thus, the company wishes to provide students with educational opportunities that enable them to enter into the world of employment, develop their capabilities, and give them the chance to build a better future.
He added that the company continues to work to provide help to those who need it, as it has provided many scholarships to PSUT students in the past to support them to obtain undergraduate and Master’s degrees in different disciplines.
This is a renewal of a 2012 agreement between Orange Jordan and PSUT. Under the terms of the agreement, Orange Jordan has awarded scholarships to outstanding students, in addition to providing free Wi-Fi services in the Green Zone on campus and equipping the area with all necessities such as tables and chairs. As part of its plan to promote civic responsibility and entrepreneurship, which features in its five-year strategy, Orange Jordan is committed to promoting the social and economic empowerment of local communities by supporting promising and highly successful students. Thus, the company seeks to provide opportunities for ambitious young people who will contribute to the Kingdom’s future social and economic development.
