Princess Sumaya University for Technology has won first place in the PSUT University Show Jumping Tournament 2018/19, which was held under the patronage of the President of PSUT, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai. This was the first event of its kind staged for Jordanian universities, both government and private, and was contested by 50 riders from eight universities (PSUT, the University of Jordan, Petra University, German-Jordanian University, Middle East University, the American University of Madaba, Al-Ahliyya Amman University, and Mu'tah University). Competitors also came from the local community.

The tournament, organized by PSUT, was held in the Champions Hall at Al-Jawad Al-Arabi Club and was judged by a committee from the Jordanian Equestrian Federation. The tournament was divided into two classes, 90 cm, and 120 cm, and the overall results were as follows:

First place: Princess Sumaya University for Technology

Second place: The American University of Madaba

Third place: The German-Jordanian University

At the end of the tournament, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Rami Salem, acting on behalf of PSUT’s President Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, awarded the prizes to the winning universities.

PSUT’s President, Prof. Al-Refai, congratulated the University's family and the five students who made up the winning team. He expressed his pride in the ability of PSUT students to achieve victory in a wide range of extracurricular competitions, now adding a new sporting event, that of show jumping, to the list of accomplishments. This is in line with the vision of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of PSUT’s Board of Trustees, to make the University a leading name and have it represented at various national, regional and international forums. Such events also provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and expertise, as well as stimulating a spirit of teamwork, participation and fair play among fellow students in various extracurricular activities, in addition to promoting their academic careers.
