PSUT forges ahead this year, taking 1st place among private universities and 4th place among official universities in QS World University Rankings 2018
According to the QS World Rankings 2018, Princess Sumaya University for Technology ranked first among Jordanian private universities and took fourth place among the official universities. The top three places were held by the University of Jordan, JUST, and Yarmouk University, respectively. PSUT ranked 46th in the Arab world, in addition to the University’s name being listed among the top 50 universities.
The President of PSUT, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, noted that this year’s achievement reflects the recent increase in scientific research output. The number of research works published in international scientific journals has risen by 100% over the last two years, which is evidence of the great strides made in the performance of research work. This reinforces the concerted efforts of the unified team at the University to realize the aspirations of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan to develop the academic and research process, and provide the market with outstanding, highly-competent graduates. It also reflects the excellence of PSUT’s faculty members and students, as well as the clear progress made by the University and the outstanding achievements that distinguish it among other Arab and International universities.
The QS World University Rankings is a recognized annual classification published by the British organization Quacquarelli Symonds. 26,000 universities around the world compete for placements, with only 950 being included in the rankings. The classification is made based on six key indicators: academic reputation, university reputation among employers, the teacher / student ratio, the ratio of international teachers, and the ratio of overseas students.
