PSUT holds the Fifth Annual Culture Week

 

Under the patronage of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, PSUT’s Deanship of Student Affairs held the fifth annual Culture Week. The University’s President, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, inaugurated the event on Sunday, 8th April 2018. Also in attendance were the Director of the National Library in Amman, the Dean of Student Affairs, the deans of the Schools and the Vice President of the University. Prof. Al-Refai opened the fifth Book Fair, which saw a variety of books in a wide range of fields on exhibit. In addition there were many various booths displaying examples of the students' creativity in the field of free drawing, drawing on articles of clothing, embroidery, music played on the oud, Souk Okaz, and a free Unibox booth. There was a special participation from the National Library, which provided free books in many fields. Some Jordanian historical documents were also on display as part of a distinguished participation from the Ministry of Culture.

 

In his opening speech, the President of the University welcomed the guests and participants. He also praised the students and their creativity, pointing out that Culture Week is an annual University event which aims to support students and their creativity. It also serves to strengthen and support the cultural aspect as a special activity in the University. He said that the exhibition would continue for three days, in addition to other new events such as the First Student Poetry Forum, which was to be held that day with the participation of 14 Jordanian universities.
