PSUT student Farah Abu-Dabaseh leads the Jordanian team to take third place at the Huawei Competition in China

The Jordanian team, comprising of students from Princess Sumaya University for Technology and Al Balqa Applied University and headed by PSUT’s Farah Abu Dabaseh, won third place in the 2017 International Huawei ICT Skills Competition which took place in China on Sunday, 24/12/2017. The Jordanian team included Farah Abu Dabaseh, a Master’s student of Information Systems Security and Digital Criminology at PSUT, and two students from Al-Balqa Applied University, Emran Hattab from the Department of Computer Science and Diaa Al-Mahameed from the Department of Accounting Information Systems. The team was under the supervision of Eng. Ashraf Sabha of Princess Sumaya University for Technology who received a prize for outstanding coach. The PSUT also received a distinguished academic certificate as well as the Shield of Excellence in the competition.

PSUT won five top places in the national round of the competition. All students in the King Abdullah II School of Engineering, Farah Abu Dabaseh took first place, Mohammed al-Yusufi took fourth place, Mu'taz al-Dabbasa came fifth, Jaidaa’ Al-Ghoul was sixth, and Nada Marar took seventh place at the national level of the Huawei International Competition which was contested by 26 competitors from all of the Jordanian universities at Huawei headquarters in Amman earlier this month.

PSUT’s President, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, congratulated the winning students and their supervisor on this new achievement. He expressed his pleasure and pride in this victory which makes PSUT a forerunner among Jordanian universities, praising the efforts of the students and their supervisor. He thanked them for their continuous efforts in participating in national and international competitions which not only support their academic careers and sharpen their practical skills, but also provide the opportunity for students to display their abilities and excellence, as well as stimulating the spirit of cooperation, participation and fair competition with their colleagues.
