PSUT student Hamza Aweys wins first place in the Jordanian Universities Karate Championship / Kata

In an event organized by the Jordanian University Athletic Union, Princess Sumaya University for Technology won first place in the Jordanian Universities Karate Championship / Kata thanks to the efforts of student Hamza Aweys, who took the title after winning a succession of bouts. The tournament was held at Prince Rashid Hall in Al-Hussein Sports City, with the participation of 16 public and private universities. Acting on behalf of the President of the Jordanian University Athletic Union, Dr. Muneer Al-Ofishat, the Dean of Student Affairs at Al-Zaytoonah University, presented Hamza Aweys with the gold medal.

The President of PSUT, Professor Mashhoor Al-Refai, congratulated Hamza Aweys and added that the excellence of the University and its students extends beyond the scientific and academic sphere into extracurricular activities. The University strives to encourage these activities which help students develop their skills and abilities as well as promoting feelings of belonging and loyalty to the University. This achievement is yet another step in the realization of the vision of Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, who is committed to supporting young people in all aspects of life considering the important role they have to play in the movement of change that is taking place in our world today.
