The conditions for a student’s admission to a Bachelor's degree program demand that he/she must hold a Secondary School Certificate, as follows:
a. Holders of a Jordanian Secondary School Certificate
A student who has a certificate from within the Kingdom must be a graduate of a licensed school recognized by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom. The student must submit a certified copy of the certificate of completion of secondary school, with a detailed transcript of the grades obtained in the subjects of study. These documents must be certified by both the school where the student studied in the Kingdom and the Jordanian Ministry of Education.
b. Holders of a Secondary School Certificate from outside Jordan
Students who have obtained certificates from outside the Kingdom must have graduated from a licensed school recognized by the Ministry of Education in the country of study, and must submit a certified copy of the certificate of completion of secondary school with a detailed transcript of the grades obtained in the subjects of study. These documents must be certified by the Ministry of Education in the country of study, then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country of study, then the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the country of study, or the Embassy of that country, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Please note the following:
Holders of the US High School Certificate (SAT)
• The student should have completed 12 years of study prior to obtaining the secondary school certificate and should submit official proof of such.
• The certificate obtained by the student must be certified by the Ministry of Education in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Holders of the British Secondary School Certificate (GCE, GCSE, IGCSE)
• The student should have completed 12 years of study prior to obtaining the secondary school certificate and should submit official proof of such.
• The certificate obtained by the student must be certified by the Ministry of Education in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Holders of the Swiss Secondary School Certificate (IB)
• The student should have completed 12 years of study prior to obtaining the secondary school certificate and should submit official proof of such.
• The certificate obtained by the student must be certified by the Ministry of Education in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Important note: Any student who holds a non-Jordanian nationality and holds a non-Jordanian secondary school certificate needs a letter from the University to the Jordanian Ministry of Education in order to complete the certificate equivalency procedures.
Holders of Diploma Certificates (enrolling in university bridging programs)
1. Students (from inside Jordan) who are interested in bridging and who have a community college diploma (comprehensive) are accepted with an average of not less than (75%) in the University’s Schools, except for Engineering majors which require a minimum average score of 85% where the diploma equates to 55 hours only.
2. Students from outside Jordan who are interested in bridging and who have a community college diploma are accepted, provided that they submit to the University an official letter from the Ministry of Higher Education in the country in which the student gained the diploma, or from the Embassy of the student’s home country in Jordan, stating that the diploma qualifies the holder to continue his/her university education to the Bachelor’s in his/her home country. Alternatively, the student can obtain an equivalency certificate from the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education, where the diploma equates to 55 hours only, with the required average score for Engineering majors is 85% and 75% for other disciplines.
