The team consisting of PSUT students Sama Zawaida, Tamara Al-Kawamleh, Walid Amr, and Rakan Armoush ranked 40th in the world, while the team made up of Osama Rakan, Reema Abu Al-Rub, and Rama Al-Alawneh took 54th place globally. In 97th place in the world came the team consisting of Youssef Freij and Nora Abdel-Hafez. They are also members of the Data Club, run under the supervision of Dr. Nailah Al-Madi, Dr. Ibrahim Abul-Houl, and Bushra Alhijawi.

The President of PSUT, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, congratulated the students and their supervisors on their outstanding victory, highlighting the directives of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the University's Board of Trustees, to actively work toward participating in international competitions, due to the positive impact they have on boosting students' academic and practical expertise and skills, as well as honing their talents.

The head of the School’s Data Science Department, Dr. Nailah Al-Madi, said that the nature of this competition required processing large data for hospital ICU wards, and building a computer program to predict diabetes. She added that the competition was intense and that a large number of data scientists and experts working in international companies such as Google had participated.

Notably, PSUT led a Jordanian team to win first place in the international Huawei 2020 Competition, in addition to taking second and third places in the Crown Prince Award for Best Government Service Application for the year 2020. The University also won first place in the world in the IEEEXtreme Programming Competition after having previously won first and second places in the 2019 Arab Programming Competition. In 2018, PSUT was the first place winner in the Middle East and Africa at the ACM International Programming Contest.
