The Department of Public Relations and Media at Princess Sumaya University for Technology has issued a special issue of the university's magazine, reviewing its most recent accomplishments, which include more than twenty global and local achievements.
The issue opened with a foreword from HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees, in which she stated, “We have been keen, from the beginning, to ensure that our beloved university is an outstanding one in the ICT field, as well as in all teaching programs offered at undergraduate, master's or PhD level. We have got our wish, as we have reached the stage where it is the labor market that seeks to recruit our students and not vice versa. Perhaps our students taking first place among all Jordanian universities in the University Proficiency Exam again and again is the best embodiment of that.”
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Mohammad Abu Qudais, also participated in the issue, saying, "Today, as we are about to celebrate the centenary of the Jordanian state, we are following the progress of PSUT as it continues its distinguished course and makes its way into the future at a steady pace, following the approach laid out at the will of His Majesty the King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein for Jordanian higher education institutions, under the guidance of the University’s Board of Trustees, headed by HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, who has spared no effort to provide all possible support to this pioneering institution in its bid towards achieving even greater excellence for its graduates, whose reputation has become comparable to those of international universities. I cannot overlook the university’s administration, headed by Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, and its pivotal role in realizing these achievements.”
Former Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Majd Shweikeh said, "I follow PSUT's activities with admiration, and I was honored to participate in several events that it held and tested work with many of its graduates. The yearning for leadership was present, and this makes us more insistent that Jordan's opportunities can be multiplied by the quality of education capable of building specialized capabilities and the quality that will be a resource we can count on to create a better future for our communities and nations.”
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Int@j Association, Dr. Bashar Hawamdeh, said, "In terms of the Association's ongoing communication with its members from ICT companies, PSUT is a preferred tributary for its graduates with these companies because of their excellence and high competencies."
In turn, the president of PSUT, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, said, “This special issue of the university’s magazine comes with a different flavor, containing between its covers achievements and successes that were achieved in a year in which frustration prevailed, productivity decreased, the economy shrank, and fear prevailed. It is the year of the Coronavirus pandemic and its catastrophic effects.” Al-Refai added, "Our ambition was never to compete at local or regional levels only, but our strategy was to enlarge our dreams, and to unfurl our sails to compete globally with all our energy and strength. This is what we have done, and we will continue on this course, with God’s good grace.”
In his article, former MP Jamil Al-Nimri wrote, "PSUT appears to be a model and an example of how to overcome the problem of development and progress in our country. It has a successful administration that proceeds with a firm will to implement development plans that do not allow the factors and elements of resistance and backwardness to thwart its work, so it achieves remarkable and stable success."
On the final page, journalist Hussein Al-Rawashdeh wrote, "PSUT started from a strong infrastructure and continued to develop it with the aim of keeping pace with the latest global developments, which is the key to the puzzle. We are truly in the age of technology that launched the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and PSUT is fully aware of what our country needs and aspires to and is therefore flexible when setting its programs and courses.”
