Biography:
Dr. Khaldoon Abugharbieh received a BSEE degree from Arizona State University in 1994, followed by an MSEE degree from Stanford University in 1996. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University, California, in 2009. From 1995 to 1999, he worked on programmable logic devices and data communication products in Cypress Semiconductor. In 1999, he joined the RF Group in DataPath Systems, which was later acquired by LSI Logic Corporation, where he worked on consumer-product mixed-signal system-on-chips. In 2006, he joined National Semiconductor Corporation’s High Speed Signal Division. Dr. Abugharbieh also worked at the SerDes Technology Group in Xilinx Corporation as a senior design manager. He worked on RF-class voltage-controlled oscillators, phase lock loops, data converters, and high-speed and low-power I/Os. Dr. Abugharbieh has served as the electrical engineering department head from 2015 to 2017, and served as the dean of the school of engineering from 2017 to 2019. He is presently the dean of the school of graduate studies and scientific research at Princess Sumaya University for Technology. His research interests include high-performance analog- and mixed-signal ICs. Dr. Abugharbieh holds thirteen issued US patents and has authored and co-authored thirty four technical refereed journal and conference publications.
