The Princess Sumaya University for Technology branch of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) has won two international awards in the competition organized by the Association's main branch in Washington, namely the Best Newsletter Award, and the award for Best Performance among all university clubs in the world. The victory was achieved by a team of students, Muhammad Ibrahim, Karim Al-Mulqi, Sandy Michael, and Jumana Abu Hamad.
The President of PSUT, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, congratulated the winners, emphasizing the University’s keenness to implement the directives of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees, in seeking to participate in various international competitions. This participation reflects positively in the students’ gaining of academic and practical experiences, and the honing of their talents. He added that these competitions constitute a bridge for students to cross with confidence into their careers.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Rami Salem, praised the winning team, which will be honored at the “AEE World Energy Conference & Expo” to be held by the organization in the US state of Louisiana next October. He stressed the importance of the role of student clubs in supporting the achievements of the University and providing ways for its members to engage in activities that boost their creativity.
This competition is held annually, organized by the Association of Energy Engineers in the USA, for all student branches in universities worldwide. Last year, PSUT’s club won two awards for Best Conference and Best Social Media Campaign.
