As a precautionary step, the President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai has announced the University is fully prepared to start giving remote lectures via the "e-Learning Center".

According to Prof. Al-Refai, this step comes in the context of preparations made in the event that universities are ordered to disrupt work in response to the spread of Corona Virus (COVID- 19). He pointed out that the University possesses all the capabilities and facilities to ensure the smooth continuation of the teaching process.

The University ran a practical experiment for some lectures today, Sunday, in order to test the degree of readiness and effectiveness of this method, with promising results.

Prof. Al-Refai also stated that, more than two weeks ago, the PSUT administration took a number of preventive measures, such as organizing an awareness campaign for its students and employees, on the best ways to deal with this disease, by reviewing symptoms of infection, the ways in which the infection spreads, methods of prevention, and treatment. Special leaflets designed for this purpose and sterilization packages were distributed throughout the University.

The university administration has canceled travel during this semester for all employees and students, compensated them for ticket and hotel reservations, and decided to conduct interviews via "Skype". Some events have also been postponed.

The University has contacted all PSUT students and scholars who are currently outside Jordan on student exchange programs with a view to reassuring them. They were urged to follow any instructions in their host country regarding the disease, and told to contact the University or local embassy in case of any inquiries.
