Princess Sumaya University for Technology has signed a cooperation agreement for training and employment with Bank Al Etihad via video communication technology. The President, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, signed on behalf of PSUT, while the Bank was represented by the Head of Human Resources and Customer Experience, Mr. Daniel Al-Sharaiha.
The agreement aims to provide opportunities for PSUT students of all disciplines to undergo training for periods of up to three months. It also provides PSUT graduates with training that leads to employment, and for the Bank's participation in PSUT activities such as conferences, events and the annual Career Fair held by the University.
Prof. Al-Refai praised the constructive cooperation with the Bank, lauding its positive role in community service. He highlighted the vision of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, regarding the necessity of networking with major local and international institutions to advance the University’s work and achieve its goals in serving the country.
Mr. Al-Sharaiha said that the Bank always aspires to provide all means of knowledge and learning necessary for university students to train them and make them ready for employment so that they can engage in the labor market as valuable assets for any institution in which they work, because they are indeed the assets of our society. He pointed out that this can be achieved through concerted efforts among national institutions.
PSUT's Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Al-Saidi, explained that the agreement forms part of various programs that the University is working on with the aim of building solid partnerships with institutions and sectors for the purpose of training and employing its students in line with the developments of labor market needs and in response to rapid technological progress.
