The Dean of the King Talal School of Business Technology at Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Dr. George Sammour, has received a certificate as an evaluator of international business school programs, presented by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). This certification qualifies Dr. Sammour to serve on its committees of international experts to accredit business schools around the world.

The AACSB evaluates business programs and specializations through work teams that include scientists, specialists and highly experienced people from industry, academia, governmental and private bodies. These teams focus on the curricula, the competence of faculty members, the level of students, and the financial and human capabilities. They also examine the support provided by universities to develop academic programs and scientific research, and a number of factors related to the quality and efficiency of the educational process.

Dr. Sammour, who holds a PhD in Business Computing from Hasselt University in Belgium, has served as Head of the Business Information Technology Department at King Talal School of Business Technology and as the School’s Vice Dean. Additionally, he holds the position of the University’s coordinator for the international AACSB accreditation. He has also served as the director of PSUT’s Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center. He is an accredited evaluator for the quality assurance certificate granted by the Jordanian Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions (AQACHEI). He has previously organized many workshops on how to obtain AACSB international accreditation for a number of Jordanian universities.

The King Talal School of Business Technology is the first and only such school in any Jordanian university to obtain AACSB international accreditation. The AACSB was established in 1916 and is the oldest body for global accreditation for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s, and PhD programs in the field of business administration and accounting. AACSB accreditation is a mark of excellence in teaching business administration programs, and has been obtained by less than five percent of business schools around the world.
