Describing their admission to the University as a promising start to their future, the President of PSUT meets its new students

Speaking via video communication technology, the President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, met with its new intake of students, praising their wise decision to join the University, which has a local and worldwide reputation for achievement and excellence. He described their decision as one that leads to welcoming future horizons, filled with opportunities that open the gates of success and prosperity.

During the meeting, which was organized by the Dean of Student Affairs and attended by the deans of the Schools as well as the deans of Admissions and Registration and Student Affairs, Al-Refai called on the students to be partners in the University’s achievements, helping to further expand upon them. He requested that they assume the highest degree of responsibility in maintaining their safety and that of their colleagues upon their return to face-to-face study on campus.

Al-Refai underlined PSUT’s keenness, under the directives of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of its Board of Trustees, on the need for students to positively engage in university life, and not to miss out on participation in extracurricular activities through the Office for the Care of Gifted Students, and to participate in community service. He pointed out that the University administration holds regular meetings with them to involve them in its policies and to develop the services they receive. The President announced that he would dedicate two hours every Thursday to meet with students in his office.

Al-Refai urged the students to work hard in their studies, to attend their lectures, and to communicate with their instructors, particularly their academic advisor. He also encouraged them to abide by university rules and regulations, adhere to instructors' office hours, emphasizing the need to obtain information from the right resource and to maintain good conduct.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Rami Salem, gave a detailed explanation of the tasks and services provided by the Deanship, and the extracurricular activities and student clubs that students can join to enhance their skills and hone their talents.

After the academic deans gave detailed explanations about their Schools and the teaching programs they offer at the bachelor's, master's and PhD levels, the students were given the opportunity to have their inquiries and comments answered.
