Emphasizing the importance of scientific research and networking with major international educational institutions,
President of PSUT meets new faculty members
The President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, met in the Friendship Auditorium with new faculty members for the academic year 2021-2022 during a 2-day event organized by the University’s Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center.
In the event’s opening ceremony, Al-Refai said, "We look forward to you being our partners in achievement, and reaping success and excellence, as you join an academic edifice that has built a great global reputation in a short period of time. We are sure that you will prove to be a qualitative addition to the University and the nation."
Al-Refai stressed the importance of giving scientific research the utmost attention, as it is the hallmark of PSUT’s progress locally, regionally and globally. He pointed out that the directives of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees, are based on the need to recruit highly qualified faculty members who are able to excel through scientific research, teaching, community service and their interaction with students.
The President reviewed PSUT's most important achievements, activities and unique programs at the level of the Kingdom, the region and the world, focusing on the need to enhance partnership with the industry sector, enumerating the University's success stories in this vital field.
The Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Wejdan Abu Alhaija, presented a lecture on the University’s plans and visions on its way to becoming a “global university”. She also reviewed the international rankings achieved by the University, and its search for a global reference in international education with which it can identify and draw inspiration from its strengths.
The Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Mohammad Sababha, also gave a presentation on the rules and regulations governing the University, its digital transformation, and its ability to modernize, develop and keep pace with all new advancements. He called on his colleagues to exert their energies for the sake of the University’s continued success and superiority.
The Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center, Dr. Ammar Al-Hassan, stated that the event, in its fifth edition, includes lectures that discuss a number of themes, most notably: joint research projects between the University and the RSS, Al-Hassan Business Park, local and international academic accreditation, university rules and regulations, and the mechanism for supporting scientific research. Also under discussion were how to interact with students, strategic planning, the e-learning system, El Hassan Library services, database search strategies, employee services and e-registration, EU grant programs and European projects, and cultural exchange opportunities for students and instructors.
