Prof. Al-Refai urged the students not to neglect participation in extracurricular activities through the Talented Students Office, and as well as getting involved in local community service. He indicated that the PSUT administration holds regular meetings with students to involve them in its policy-making process and in developing the services provided to them. He also stated that two hours will be set every Thursday for students to meet with him in his office once university life returns to normal.

He emphasized the idea of engineering in its holistic form and its role in achieving human well-being through the use of modern technology, and the need to acquire the skills that will be a distinguishing factor in the labor market.
