President's Statement

Welcome to the Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT).In our short history of a little over twenty five years, our University has earned the reputation of being atop-ranking specialized, private university in Jordan.

The 2020 QS World University Ranking Report placed PSUT first nationally with regard to the number of published research works, and it figuredin the (801 - 1000) category internationally.

Since its foundation in 1991, PSUT has strivento be the most innovative and entrepreneurial university in Jordan and beyond, by graduating outstanding students, entrepreneurs and professional leaders. PSUT gives top priority to the provision of high-quality educational programs, the publication of research works, and the development of Jordan’s research competencies. These priorities are being addressed by strategically focusing on the development and improvement of the quality of study plans and academic programs, and on scientific research and development, as well as regulating quality assurance at the institution.The sought after resultsare the advancement of the University’s international status, the improvement of our community service record, and sustainable development.

Active academic and industrial partnerships, both locally and regionally, feature highly on our list of priorities. Indeed, we have succeeded in forging close ties with well-known local industrial enterprises, in addition to distinguished international academic institutions in Europe and North America.

PSUT is a pioneering educational institution that combines excellence with innovation, and provides students with a high-quality education in multiple specializations, that enables them to contribute to the development of their communities and keeps them abreast of constant global advances in the fields of Engineering, Computing Sciences, Business Technology. PSUT offers a range of academic disciplines in these fields, which are specifically tailored to meet the expectations of today's youth, enabling them to achieve their objectives and build their futures on a firm academic foundation.

This reflects the vision of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chairman of PSUT's Board of Trustees, who is committed to ensuring that a new generation of students graduate with distinction, expertise, and skills that enhance their entrepreneurial and innovative capabilities and contribute to a world that is witnessing unprecedented developments in STEM fields.

Addressing current trends in academia, PSUT is keen on contributing to open learning and vocational training in the Kingdom, as well as ensuring that the undergraduate and graduate courses and programs remain relevant to the ever-changing market needs.By forging effective links with industry at the level of research and development, the University is making every effort to bring the research projects carried out by our faculty and students into line with current market needs.

In addition to having acquired an excellent reputation at the regional level, PSUT has extended that reputation to the international scene by becoming internationally accredited for its programs in all its academic Schools. In 2013, five Bachelor’s degree programs offered by the King Hussein School of Computing Sciences and the King Abdullah II School of Engineering were accredited by the internationally renowned ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). This has been renewed in 2019 for six Bachelor’s degree.  Additionally, the programs of the King Talal School of Business Technology have also been accredited the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) in 2020. Furthermore, PSUT has fulfilled all the requirements of Jordan's general and private accreditation criteria, established by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in line with Jordan's strategy for the development of teaching and scientific research to meet international standards.

In recognition of its outstanding performance since its establishment, as well as its significant contribution towards building the ICT and business sectors, both at national and regional levels, HM King Abdullah II awarded PSUT the nation's Order of Independence, First Class, in 2014. The award also acknowledged PSUT's introduction of unique new degree programs, its excellence in the scientific and research sectors, and its promotion of the culture of entrepreneurship amongst students.

PSUT aspires to augment its achievements by implementing a number of plans and projects over the coming years. Priorities include establishing centers for innovation in the fields of alternative energy sources and widening Arabic language digital content. PSUT also aims to enhance collaboration with the industrial sector in an effort to keep abreast of market needs and develop its academic programs in line with the demands of this sector.

One of our top priorities is the recruitment of high-quality teaching faculty members who are committed to providing students with the academic and professional expertise required to enable them to navigate the rapid changes and complexities of the modern era.

We aim to make university life for our students as holistic, exciting, and stimulating as possible by providing them with a unique academic experience while, in parallel, creating an atmosphere that strengthens their sprit of friendship, harmony, and belonging. Our students are encouraged to participate in sports, national and international competitions, community service, and other stimulating extra-curricular activities.It is with great pride that I state that our students regularly take top places in international competitions, which in effect puts them in high demand for employment by companies in the labor market.

PSUT’s deep commitment to excellence in education stems from our belief that it is the core foundation on which communities and nations are built. It is this vision that motivates our commitment to expanding our efforts in offering "Excellence in Education for a New Generation".
