The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Club at Princess Sumaya University for Technology held a celebration for the Institute’s International Day. The event included several interactive sessions in which a number of experts and specialists spoke, with the participation of dozens of PSUT students and graduates.

In the first session, engineers Muhannad Al-Ashhab and Muhammad Al-Khodari discussed smart networks and automation, while the second session dealt with artificial intelligence and its use in automation and robotics, presented by Engineer Omar Baalbaki and Sinan Kamal. In the third session, engineers Lian Al-Salihi and Bana Olayan spoke about women's empowerment and leadership in the fields of work.

Club supervisor Dr. Fadi Shahrouri stressed PSUT's keenness to create an IT environment that contributes to raising students' efficiency, in line with global technical and information development, and labs equipped with the latest required technologies.

Notably, this year the club won the Ideal Club Award at the level of Jordanian universities and the Robotics Championship for Jordanian universities. It also took first place in the Arab world and seventh globally in the IEEEXtreme competition.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), headquartered in New Jersey, USA, was formed in 1963 to achieve educational and technical progress in the fields of electrical, electronic and computer engineering, and it has more than 420,000 members from 160 countries.
