PSUT holds interactive lecture on "The Reality of Traffic Safety in Jordan"

On behalf of the President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, received the Director of the Jordan Traffic Institute, Lt. Col. Faisal Fraihat, and the accompanying delegation, Capt. Habis Al-Abadi and Lt. Ahmed Al-Zawahra, in the presence of PSUT’s Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Rami Salem.

Prof. Abu Elhaija praised this cooperation, which consolidates the joint cooperation between the university and the local community within its extracurricular activities. The specific aim of this meeting was to target students in spreading traffic awareness and protecting them within the standards and constants of traffic safety that serve the traffic process, and achieve safety for all on the roads.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Rami Salem, stressed the Deanship's keenness to network with the local community and government institutions to serve the university’s students, raise their level of awareness, and enrich their knowledge. He indicated the importance of extracurricular activities and their leading role in enhancing the students’ skills and furthering their experiences and knowledge, with a view of providing them with the competence that allows them to apply such activities in their working life, as well as their positive impact on their time at the university.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Capt. Habis Al-Abadi presented a lecture entitled "The Reality of Traffic Safety in Jordan" organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs in cooperation with the Jordanian Traffic Institute. The lecture was intended by a large number of university students.

Captain Habis Al-Abadi pointed out the serious traffic violations that have a clear impact on the increase in the rate of traffic accidents, emphasizing that the human element constitutes 97% of traffic accidents.

Captain Al-Abadi noted the reality of traffic safety in the Kingdom, and the role of the Public Security Directorate in promoting and raising the level of traffic safety. He highlighted the need for the continuity and sustainability of work to raise traffic awareness by diverse means. He also addressed the importance of maintaining traffic law and ensuring its firm and strict application to all those who transgress and violate it.

At the end of the lecture, a question and answer session was held.
