PSUT honors graduates who obtained CPA certification

Princess Sumaya University for Technology’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Wejdan Abu-Elhaija, presented PSUT graduates Obeida Mubarak and Youssef Akl with honors for their achievement of obtaining the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

At a ceremony organized by the Careers Guidance and Alumni Affairs Office at the Deanship of Admissions and Registration, Prof. Abu-Elhaija praised the honorees for their achievement. She pointed out that the granting of these honors is in line with the vision of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees, regarding the importance of maintaining communication with the University’s distinguished graduates and viewing them as its ambassadors to the world.

Prof. Abu-Elhaija added that celebrating the great achievements of PSUT's graduates is a source of inspiration and serves as a role model for its students, as well as helping to building bridges of communication to pave the way for success in their careers.

The Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Al-Saidi, said that PSUT is not satisfied with merely granting the student his degree, but rather follows his career and maintains continuous communication with him, in a way that enhances the University’s role in the labor market and contributes to serving the Kingdom's economic development plans.

Mubarak and Akl, who both obtained a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from King Talal School of Business Technology in 2019, dedicated their achievement to HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, and thanked the University for everything that it had given them. They affirmed the University’s diligence in monitoring the progress of its students after their graduation, indicating that obtaining a CPA had proved to be an exceptional journey for them, that they had benefited greatly from it, and that it had served to expand their perceptions in the business world.

The CPA certification gives its holder international recognition of his accounting certificate and gives him expertise in the science of financial accounting, auditing and work environments. Holding the certification increases the chances of obtaining a job in major institutions, and the AICPA is one of the best institutions in the field of legal accounting. It was founded in 1887 and has a membership of more than 431,000 accountants around the world.
