The President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, patronized the launch of the fourth annual “Think Pink” campaign activities, held on campus at the Green Square. The event is organized by the Social Guidance Office at the Deanship of Student Affairs in cooperation with the Jordanian Breast Cancer Program at the King Hussein Cancer Foundation. Also in attendance were the University’s two vice presidents and the deans of its Schools.

Al-Refai said that the campaign is part of the University's consistent approach in helping to support the Foundation’s efforts and work and serving to spread its humanitarian message. He added that PSUT, under the directives of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of its Board of Trustees, will spare no effort in this noble endeavor, and will support all activities that will limit the spread of this disease. He expressed his appreciation for the work of the students and those in charge of the campaign.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Rami Salem, pointed out that the Deanship has organized the campaign annually in conjunction with the International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, indicating that these activities change the stereotyped image of this disease through awareness, and encourage the possibility of overcoming and curing it.

The 2-day campaign includes educational activities, distribution of pink roses, short film screenings, setting up a women's health advice booth, distributing brochures and magazines, collecting donations to support the program, and a remote lecture.

The Jordanian Breast Cancer Program is concerned with improving the service provided to women for early detection of breast cancer, and seeks to raise public awareness of the importance of early detection and regular examinations.
