Princess Sumaya University for Technology and “Entikhabati” have signed an agreement under which the University will take over management of its website on the company’s platform with the activation of its full services. The agreement was signed by PSUT’s President, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, and the General Manager of the company, Eng. Eyad Al-Olaimat.
Al-Refai indicated that, through this agreement, the University seeks to bring to fruition the proposals of the Royal Discussion Papers by activating the role of youth, empowering them and giving them every possible support to create a true democratic environment characterized by integrity and transparency. He pointed out that adding the PSUT Student Council to the Entikhabati platform seeks to make it easier for students to communicate with their representatives in their elected Council, and to involve them in the University's decisions by receiving their suggestions and comments.
Al-Refai thanked the company for its fruitful cooperation and praised the services it provides, which will facilitate the process of conducting the PSUT Student Council elections online in the next academic year. He said that it will serve to enable communication between the Council and the University administration and students, stressing that this approach embodies the visions of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, President of PSUT’s Board of Trustees, to contribute to its progress and advancement.
Al-Refai expressed his pride in PSUT's graduates, who have reached, with their creative ideas, distinguished positions that offer cutting-edge advancements in the world of technology and communications. He pointed out that the director of the company is among the PSUT graduates who evoke great pride, and that the University counts on such graduates to act as its ambassadors.
Al-Olaimat said that the application will facilitate the voting process and communication between students and their Council members via the website and smartphone applications. He pointed out that the platform works impartially and seeks to raise the student's sense of democracy, encourages him to participate in the decision-making process, and provides channels of communication between candidates and voters.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Rami Salem, indicated that PSUT has assumed management of the platform, and completed training on its activation and management, in addition to activating the online registration processes for users via the smartphone application.
Notably, PSUT signed a cooperation agreement with the company two years ago, and it was the first such initiative among Jordanian universities.
