Eyad Odeh, a student at Princess Sumaya University for Technology’s King Abdullah II School of Engineering, won the bronze medal for the under-20 age group of the épée weapon category in the Asian Fencing Championship which was held recently in Tashkent, the Uzbek capital, with the participation of 500 competitors from 25 countries.

PSUT’s President, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, praised this well-deserved victory for this hard-working player, highlighting the fact that the University, under the directives of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of its Board of Trustees, spares no effort to provide its students with every possible means to showcase their sporting, arts, and cultural energies, offering them every opportunity to participate in local and international tournaments.

Last summer, Eyad Odeh won the bronze in the West Asian Fencing Championship, also with the épée. In addition, PSUT won the Jordanian Universities Fencing Championship Cup, which was held late last year and organized by the University as part of its celebrations of the centenary of the Jordanian state, in cooperation with the International Players Association, and the Jordanian Fencing Federation.
