PSUT student participates in Big Data Conference at Expo 2020 Dubai

Fatima Al-Taharwa, a Master's student from the Department of Data Science at Princess Sumaya University for Technology’s King Hussein School of Computing Sciences, participated in the Mobilizing Big Data and Data Science for the Sustainable Development Goals Conference, which was organized by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre (FCSC) of the United Arab Emirates with the United Nations Committee of Experts on Big Data and Data Science for Official Statistics (UN-CEBD), as part of the Expo 2020 Dubai.

Al-Taharwa's participation came in the form of a presentation of her project entitled "Professional Classification for Social and Economic Surveys Using Text Analytics and Machine Learning Techniques", which helps in developing statistical work using data science and machine learning, to facilitate and accelerate important classification processes.

The presentation of the project, which was supervised by Dr. Nailah Al-Madi, was among five projects selected for participation from official statistical offices around the world.
