Students from Princess Sumaya University for Technology won 6 gold medals at the Abu Dhabi International Jiu-Jitsu Championship, Jordan Tour, which was held at Princess Sumaya Hall in the Sports City in Amman.

The victory came thanks to the competitors Hazem Kayyali (84 kg category), Anas Ibrahim (94 kg), and Hamza Khirfan (62 kg), who each took two medals.

The President of PSUT, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, expressed his pleasure at this great sporting achievement, emphasizing that the excellence of the university’s students is not limited to scientific and academic fields, but extends beyond them to extracurricular and sports activities that help them develop their skills and abilities in various walks of life.

It is noteworthy that PSUT student Hamza Al-Rasheed has already achieved victory at the Jiu-jitsu World Championships in 2017, and was subsequently decorated with two gold medals at the World Championships in Thailand in 2019. That competition was attended by more than 208 players representing 14 countries. Sameh Abu Ragheb, also a student at PSUT, won the silver medal for the over 94 kg weight category at the 2019 Asian Championships in Mongolia.
