PSUT wins Jordanian Universities Fencing Tournament

Princess Sumaya University for Technology won the Jordanian Universities Fencing Tournament Cup, which was organized by PSUT as part of its centenary celebrations of the Jordanian state. The event was held in cooperation with the International Players’ Association and the Jordan Fencing Federation, and in coordination with the Kawar Foundation to hold sports events and tournaments.

The tournament was held in the Jordan Fencing Federation’s hall at Al-Hussein Sports City. Also competing in the competition were Al-Ahliyya Amman University, which came second in the general rankings, the University of Jordan, Petra, Zarqa, Al-Balqa Applied University, and the American University of Madaba.

Upon presenting the winners with the Cup, PSUT’s Vice President, Prof. Mohammad Sababheh, praised the participating teams and players, and their enthusiasm and high level of sportsmanship. He highlighted the fact that PSUT was keen, under the directives of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of its Board of Trustees, to hold sports tournaments due to the role that they play in honing students' talents and supporting their activities.

The Foil (Men):  

Gold: Suhaib Dirawi (PSUT)

Silver: Qusai Haboub (Al-Balqa Applied University)

Bronze: Ayas Al-Zumar (Jordan Fencing Federation) and Ghaith Al Maghayreh (Al-Balqa Applied University)

 

The Sabre (Men):

Gold: Abdullah Al-Talha (Al-Ahliyya Amman University)

Silver: Ahmed Amawi (Jordan Fencing Federation)

Bronze: Osama Al-Masri (Zarqa University) and Mahmoud Al-Nasser (PSUT)

 

The Epée (Men):

Gold: Abdullah Al-Nasser (Jordan Fencing Federation)

Silver: Hamza Al-Zubaidi (Al-Ahliyya Amman University)

Bronze: Eyad Odeh (PSUT) and Ghaith Al Maghayreh (Al-Balqa Applied University)

 

The Foil (Ladies):

Gold:  Roa Al-Majali (University of Jordan)

Silver: Zain Besisa (PSUT)

Bronze: Fatoun Al-Taweel (University of Jordan) and Mira Azizia (Jordan Fencing Federation)

Gold: Deena Mansi (PSUT)

Silver: Petra Assaf (Jordan Fencing Federation)
