Important Guideline

____

  • Students are advised to plan to travel for the Fall Semester of the academic year to be their first semester abroad. In addition, their classes need to be mapped out at least 3 semesters before travel.

  • It is the student’s responsibility to carefully read and follow the officially announced rules and guidelines for the Study Abroad programs. PSUT’s role is to merely guide and support its students during the process when needed.

  • PSUT limits its liability towards its students to academic matters only and while they remain current PSUT students.

  • If you have an expired IELTS/TOEFL, you will have to re-take the exam to have a current certificate at the time of application.

  • If you are already done, or almost done with your undergraduate program, you can still proceed with your master's degree directly, but you might need a little more than one year for the master's degree.

  • If you hold a US citizenship/passport, this will affect you as the following:

    • You will not be required to go through the F1 visa steps with the American Embassy.

    • You may not need to submit financial documentation (this rule differs among universities).

    • You will still need to meet the English proficiency requirement if your pre-university degree is from outside the United

      States.

    • With regard to the tuition scholarship, most universities will still offer you in-state tuition since the agreement covers PSUT

students regardless of their nationality. But this rule differs among some of our partners.

  • The Ministry of Higher Education mandates thatany student with Jordanian nationality must take "Military Sciences- عسكرية علوم "to qualify fora Bachelor's Degree.

  • I20/SEVIS number for the fall semester usually start being issued Mid January, after receiving it

  • you can apply at the American Embassy for a student/F1 visa appointment.

  • PSUT is glad to offer such special opportunities to its special students free of charge. The only fee that you need to pay PSUT before you leave the country is the semester fees for eachsemester you plan to spend abroad until you graduate with your Bachelor's degree. This fee is mandatory by the Ministry of Higher Education since you are counted foraseatat PSUT campus. Semester fees currentlyare JOD 300 and JOD 150 for Summer Semesters (if applicable)

Ok, I'm interested, what's next? (Information per Academic School)

____

We recommend you visit the websites of the universities you are eligible for (see options per Faculty/School below), use their online "fees calculator", and study your options for the master degree at each university, or just study the courses offered by the final year at their bachelor degrees which you might be interested to take.

Once you discuss the matter with your family and have a final decision to travel, we suggest the following steps:

  1. Start preparing for the TOEFL/IELTS/Duo-lingo English test.
  2. Write down the final-year classes that you wish to take in the States, and send us an email with those class names at int.rel.off@psut.edu.jo and iro@psut.edu.jo
  3. After you email us your classes, you should start an online applying via the website of your chosen university, and make sure you check the deadline date for their application acceptance; noting that in the United States, semesters start earlier and deadlines are much earlier than ours in Jordan.  You may start uploading requested documents, including your unofficial transcripts so far, which you can download from the regnew system.  Once you have most of the requested documents uploaded, please email us your application number and/or correct name spelling and/or the email address you used for the application, please always use these email addresses when you contact us: int.rel.off@psut.edu.jo and president.coord@psut.edu.jo
