Professor Wejdan Abu Elhaija, the President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, recently met with the second group of students participating in the PSUT Venture Lab program. This initiative operates under the umbrella of the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship, recognized as the university's “incubator of entrepreneurial ideas.” The meeting was attended by Professor Bassam Hammo, the University’s Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Mohammad Obaidat, the Director of the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship at the University, Muhannad Taslaq, Officer-in-Charge of the Technology Transfer and Commercialization Office at the University, and various individuals involved in the program.

During the session, five innovative projects, proposed by university students at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels, were identified to undergo development into practical scientific initiatives. The goal is to contribute to the enhancement of both local and international communities.

Prof. Abu Elhaija highlighted that the Venture Lab program is crafted to assist students, providing them with the necessary knowledge to initiate their own businesses and translate academic projects into practical and impactful endeavors. Abu Elhaija also emphasized that the program's goal is to foster innovation and creativity on the university campus by offering essential support, training, and consultations from experts and consultants. This support covers legal and financial assistance, guiding entrepreneurial ideas from incubation to establishing companies and projects that yield positive social outcomes.

Mohammad Obaidat, the Director of the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship at the university, expressed pride in this initiative, which seeks to empower students to cultivate their entrepreneurial ideas and provide them with essential knowledge through collaboration with the Technology Transfer and Commercialization Office at the university, supervised by Muhannad Taslaq. The primary objective is to promote community development, create new job opportunities, and improve individual efficiency.

Obaidat highlighted the selection of five projects for university support and financing, with each project receiving financial assistance of ten thousand Jordanian dinars. The goal is to contribute to project development and initiation of implementation. This involves crafting business and financial plans, market research, identifying clients, protecting intellectual property, and presenting proposals to potential investors.

Students also shared project specifics, outlining the selection process of their ideas and the steps taken towards project implementation for job market entry.
