PSUT Students Among the Winning Team in 1st Place in Huawei Regional ICT Competition 2022

PSUT students among the Jordanian team have won first place in the sixth edition of Huawei ICT Competition 2022, which took place in Muscat, Oman with the participation of 19300 students from 472 universities representing 11 countries from Asia and the Middle East.

The winning team included Aws Al-Rayan and Hamza Al-Zubaidi from PSUT and Yazan Al-Shneik from Yarmouk University under the supervision of Dr. Ammar Odeh.

Her Highness expressed her pride in this achievement which reflects the university’s superiority and leadership at the local and regional levels, and the efficiency of PSUT’s programs that refine students' scientific and practical skills, stimulate their spirit of competition, and work as one team to achieve a high position in all fields, including international programming competitions of all kinds and levels.

Dr. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, PSUT president, said that this achievement- at the regional level- reflects students’ competence and our programs’ excellence, which refine students’ scientific and practical skills, and motivates competitive spirits and teamwork to achieve high standing in all fields, including global programming competitions of all kinds and at all levels.

Dr. Ashraf Ahmad, the dean of King Hussein School of computing sciences, pinpointed that this year’s competition focused on new technologies in the fields of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data storage, big data, cyber security, and networks.

It is worth noting that a team from King Hussein School of Computing Sciences recently won the first place in the 25th edition of the Africa-Arab Programming Championship (ACPC) 2022 in programming and problem solving for students. The competition was held in Shram Al-Sheikh, Egypt with the participation of 145 teams from 25 Arab and African countries, which were chosen from more than 3775 teams that participated in the semi-finals.
