The Cybersecurity Club at Princess Sumaya University for Technology won second place in the Capture Knowledge competition, titled "JISCTF", which was organized remotely by the Middle East University at the level of Jordanian universities, with the participation of 107 teams.
The winning team (CBL) included Hamza Nour, Basil Tahboub, Fawwaz Al-Khalidi, and Ziyad Al-Sharif, and was supervised by Dr. Haitham Al-Ani.
Dean of the King Abdullah II School of Engineering, Dr. Essam Al-Qaralla, appreciated the honorable results achieved by the students and their supervisor, which reflects the interdependence between the study plans and practical training. He added that following up on developments in the fields of cybersecurity can help students present specialized entrepreneurial ideas.
Dr. Al-Qaralla also indicated that these competitions give an opportunity to highlight the development in the student's mentality since s/he moves from a passive listener to someone who understands his/ her real role and shows their strong readiness for the future. Al-Qaralla stated that these competitions provide students with skills and experiences that open the doors of the labor market for students after graduation.
It is worth mentioning that last year the University's Cyber Security Club organized the competition's activities on the university's campus, which included preparing devices and systems to test if they can be hacked even in a safe environment.
