Aligning qualifications with the Jordanian National Qualifications Framework workshop

In collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), a workshop was held to align qualifications with the Jordanian National Qualifications Framework. Attended by the Vice Dean of King Hussein School of Computing Science, the Head of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Department and the Liaison Officer at the King Hussein School for Computer Sciences, the workshop emphasized the significance of the framework and provided a detailed explanation of its functioning. Participants showcased their commitment to ensuring educational programs at their schools align with national standards. The workshop facilitated a comprehensive understanding of the framework's structure and its role in promoting educational excellence and addressing societal needs. Through this collaborative effort, participants aimed to leverage international expertise to enhance the national qualifications framework and improve the quality and relevance of their educational offerings.

GAF Workshop

The Head of Quality and Accreditation Department actively participated in a month-long workshop organized by GAF from March 12, 2023, to April 12, 2023. This engaging workshop placed a strong emphasis on the significance of a comprehensive capacity-building program designed for graduating students. Participants were provided with a detailed overview of the development and delivery mechanisms of the program, with special attention given to cultivating essential teamwork skills, fostering cooperative communication, and enhancing presentation abilities. By attending this workshop, the Head of Quality and Accreditation Department demonstrated a commitment to equipping students with the necessary skills and competencies to excel in their future endeavors, ensuring their smooth transition into the professional world.

Future of Higher Education: Rankings, Accreditations, and Internationalization Workshop

In a collaborative effort between the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center and the External Relations Unit, a training workshop entitled "Future of higher education: Rankings, Accreditations, and Internationalization" was meticulously organized. Renowned expert Dr. Jurica Pavičić from Zagreb University conducted the workshop on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. The workshop offered a comprehensive review of the key evaluation criteria for accreditations, including strategic planning, employee and student engagement, as well as academic and professional activities. In addition, participants gained insights into the multitude of benefits associated with accreditations and the pivotal role of quality assurance in ensuring their success. The workshop further explored the various aspects of quality assurance, encompassing planning, execution, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement. By facilitating such knowledge-sharing initiatives, the QAAC and the External Relations Unit demonstrated their commitment to promoting excellence in higher education and fostering internationalization efforts.

ABET Accreditation Workshop

In line with its mission to cultivate a culture of quality, the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center took the initiative to organize a workshop focused on ABET accreditation. This workshop, held on Thursday, February 16th, 2023, exclusively catered to Quality Liaison Officers at the university and was skillfully presented by Ms. Nadaa Al Thaher from King Abdullah II School of Engineering. Ms. Al Thaher shared invaluable insights from the School of Engineering's own experience with ABET accreditation, offering a firsthand account of the process. The workshop served as a platform to demystify the concept of accreditation and familiarize participants with the prevailing standards. By actively engaging in such knowledge-sharing endeavors, the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center reaffirmed its commitment to promoting excellence and upholding the highest quality standards within the academic community.

EFQM Foundation Traning

Eng. Bara' Qasrawi, PSUT's Quality Officer, actively took part in the EFQM Foundation training facilitated by EFQM on Thursday, February 9, 2023. The comprehensive course delved into the standards and model of EFQM, including the intricacies of the renowned RADAR approach. The training emphasized the significance of global quality systems across diverse organizations, drawing the participation of professionals from various regions worldwide. Engaging interactive discussions were conducted, fostering valuable exchanges on the opportunities and challenges entailed in implementing global quality systems. By attending this training, Eng. Bara' Qasrawi showcased a commitment to enhancing their expertise in quality management and demonstrated a proactive approach to aligning their practices with international benchmarks.

Quality of Arab Education in Schools and Universities: Challenges and Opportunities.

The Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center, represented by Ms. Lubna Al-Jazi, the Head of Quality and Accreditation Department, and Eng. Bara' Qasrawi, the Quality Officer, participated in the workshop titled "Quality of Arab Education in Schools and Universities: Challenges and Opportunities." Led by Dr. Talal Abu Ghazaleh, President and Founder of the Arab Organization for Quality in Education, and under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Azmi Mahafzah, the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Scientific Research, the workshop aimed to ensure the quality of Arab education and deepen dialogue among thought leaders. It covered topics such as unified quality standards, technological infrastructure, and capacity building for students in literature and humanities. The center's involvement reflects their dedication to advancing the quality of education and contributing to meaningful discussions in the Arab region.

Empowering Global Higher Education Workshop

The Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center actively participated in a workshop dedicated to THE ranking, with representation from Eng. Baraa Qasrawi, PSUT's Quality Officer. This insightful workshop was organized by the Amman Private University in collaboration with the Higher Education Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission, taking place on Monday, February 6, 2023. The workshop provided a comprehensive overview of THE ranking, including its significance, the updated methodology, participation criteria, and potential future changes. Furthermore, the session involved the presentation of data analysis, examining the performance of Jordanian universities over a span of several years. By engaging in this workshop, the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center demonstrated its commitment to staying informed about international rankings and continuously improving the quality of education in line with global standards.

Inception Workshop for the Graduate Attribute Framework (GAF) 

The QAAC, represented by Mrs. Lubna Al-Jazi, the Head of Quality and Accreditation Department, and supported by Ms. Sahar Frihat, the Accreditation Coordinator, actively engaged in an inception workshop centered around the Graduate Attribute Framework (GAF) on Sunday, January 15, 2023. This workshop served as a valuable platform to thoroughly review and engage in discussions regarding the framework for graduate attributes—an essential and highly relevant topic in the realm of higher education.

International Quality Day 
The Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center organized a meeting with Dr. Wael Al-Atiwi, Head of the Business Information Technology Department and assessor of the prestigious King Abdullah II Award for Excellence. This productive meeting, held on Nov. 10, 2022, provided a platform for Dr. Al-Atiwi to share his invaluable experience in the evaluation process of the King Abdullah II Award for government organizations, the private sector, and public universities. With great clarity, he elucidated the evaluation criteria specific to public universities and their practical application. The meeting proved to be an informative and enlightening session, attended by dedicated quality assurance and accreditation liaison officers.

New Faculty Orientation and Development Program

Under the leadership of Prof. Wejdan Abu Al-Haijaa, the Acting President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, an auspicious event unfolded as she inaugurated the New Faculty Orientation and Development Program. Organized meticulously by the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center, the program commenced on Sunday, 2/10/2022, in the presence of Prof. Mohammad Sabbah, the Associate Vice President for Administrative Affairs. Over the course of two days, the program encompassed a comprehensive array of lectures and interactive discussions, designed to equip the new faculty members with valuable insights and knowledge, ensuring their seamless integration and professional growth within the university community. This initiative exemplified the commitment of the university to nurturing a supportive environment and empowering its faculty members to excel in their roles.

Annual Report Workshop  

The Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center orchestrated a highly beneficial annual report workshop exclusively for the dedicated liaison officers on Sunday, 24-7-2022. Commencing the workshop, Mrs. Lubna Al-Jazi, the Head of the Quality and Accreditation Department, provided a comprehensive overview of the center's commendable endeavors in organizing annual reports over the preceding years. She delved into the intricacies of the new forms' structure and elucidated their intended objectives. Following this insightful introduction, Sahar Freihat, the Accreditation Coordinator, took the stage to expound upon the annual report procedures and shed light on their underlying objectives. This interactive workshop fostered a collaborative atmosphere, equipping the liaison officers with valuable knowledge and skills to successfully navigate the annual report process and contribute to the PSUT's ongoing commitment to excellence in quality assurance and accreditation.

Innovative Management Course Accredited by the Global Institute for Innovation (GIMI) 

Dr. Muhanna Muhanna, the Director of the Center, actively engaged in a transformative professional development opportunity by participating in an accredited innovative management course organized by the Global Institute for Innovation (GIMI). The course, held on 29-6-2022, was conducted in collaboration with the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence and the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission of Higher Education Institutions. With a primary objective to cultivate and enhance participants' capacities and skills, the course served as a catalyst for instilling a pervasive culture of excellence and innovation. By actively participating in this course, Dr. Muhanna demonstrated a firm commitment to personal and organizational growth, further solidifying the Center's dedication to fostering a dynamic environment that values and encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
