Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM)

International Credit Mobility (ICM), part of the Erasmus+ program, is managed by National Agencies to support student exchanges across Erasmus+ Programme countries, including partnerships with Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT). Individual students cannot apply directly; all applications must be coordinated through PSUT's External Relations Office.

Eligibility and Duration

Duration Options

  • Minimum: 3 months (or 1 academic term/trimester)
  • Maximum: 12 months

Levels of Study
Erasmus+ ICM supports exchanges for:

  • Bachelor’s Students (EQF levels 5-6) - at least in their second year
  • Master’s Students (EQF level 7)
  • Doctoral Students (EQF level 8)

Conditions for Participation

  1. Must be enrolled at PSUT.
  2. The study abroad program should align with the student’s degree and personal development goals.
  3. Partner institutions must have an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education and an inter-institutional agreement with PSUT.
  4. Credit Requirement: Students must have completed at least 36 credit hours at PSUT with a cumulative average of at least 68%.
  5. Exchange participants can transfer up to 24 credit hours from the host university to their PSUT degree.

Academic Recognition

Learning Agreement
Students, PSUT, and the receiving institution must sign a Learning Agreement that specifies the courses to be taken and their recognition upon completion. Any changes must also be approved by PSUT to ensure they align with degree requirements.

Student Rights and Obligations
The Erasmus+ Student Charter outlines the student’s rights and obligations during their exchange. After the study period, a transcript from the host institution confirms completion and results, and PSUT will recognize these credits toward the student’s degree if they meet the required passing marks.


Financial Support

Erasmus+ grants contribute to travel and living costs, depending on factors such as distance, living cost differences, and number of applicants. Additional support may be available for traineeships, students from disadvantaged backgrounds, and those in remote regions.

  • Expenses Covered: Monthly allowance, travel expenses, and some administrative fees.
  • No Tuition Fees: Students do not pay tuition at the host institution, although minor fees such as insurance may apply.
  • If selected, students have to pay at PSUT registration fees and tuition fees equivalent to 9 credit hours.

Application Process

Applications for Erasmus+ exchanges are coordinated through the PSUT External Relations Office. Calls for application are published with specific deadlines, and the selection process is transparent and merit-based.

Application Requirements

  1. Submit all required documents, including transcripts, certificates, and approvals from your academic supervisor or department head.
  2. Complete the Pre-Mobility Agreement and ensure it aligns with PSUT’s Learning Policy.
