Graduate Studies Council

The Graduate Studies Council consists of the dean of the King Abdullah I School of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research as Chairman, the deans of the Schools as members, and two experienced and specialized external members, appointed by the president with the recommendation of the dean of King Abdullah I School of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research.

 

The Graduate Studies Council assumes the following tasks and powers:

  1. Discussing the curricula of graduate programs and recommending their approval by the Deans' Council.
  2. Recommending to the Deans' Council the admission criteria for students, in accordance with the standards set by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions. 
  3. Recommending to the Deans' Council the number of graduate students to be admitted annually.
  4. Approving the admission of graduate students.
  5. Supervising and organizing teaching in the graduate programs and coordinating between the different Schools.
  6. Organizing the examination procedures in the departments and supervising them.
  7. Approving the examination results at the end of each semester.
  8. Recommending to the Deans' Council the granting of academic degrees and certificates.
