Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, officially launched the 19th Career Day as part of the university's annual Career Guidance Week activities, organized by the Deanship of Admissions and Registration. The aim is to showcase our students' abilities, keep them informed about job opportunities, provide training opportunities, and prepare graduating students for the job market in their respective fields.
The Career Day featured 60 companies specializing in business technology, accounting, engineering, and computing sciences. Also participating were the Royal Scientific Society, the ipark business incubator, the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship, and a special corner for the European STREAM project, focusing on improving students' job market skills.
The event received support from diamond sponsors such as Housing Bank, Orange Jordan, and Extensya Company, as well as gold sponsors including Jordan Ahli Bank, BI Consulting, Hikma Pharmaceuticals, ProgressSoft, Deloitte, SOURCEitHR, and al Etihad Bank. Moreover, silver sponsors such as Bank of Jordan, Green Circle Company, and Exos Company contributed to the event's success.
Accompanied by Prof. Bassam Hammo, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, and Dr. Muhanna Muhanna, Dean of Admissions and Registration, Prof. Abu Elhaija toured the exhibition, gaining insights into participating companies.
Prof. Abu Elhaija emphasized the university's commitment to helping students become familiar with the job market and providing practical experiences aligned with their academic studies. Abu Elhaija also highlighted the university's strategic goals to strengthen partnerships with local and international institutions and companies, preparing students for evolving job requirements and challenges efficiently.
Dr. Muhanna Muhanna, Dean of Admissions and Registration, explained that the Career Day aims to foster interactive dialogue, allowing students to delve into labor market needs, learn from experienced professionals, and seek answers to their questions. Moreover, it provides a platform for leading companies to find talented graduates who have excelled academically and practically on local, regional, and global scales.
As part of Career Guidance Week, various events and activities are held, including a career fair, graduation projects exhibition, specialized workshops, and awareness sessions. Furthermore, workshops featuring success stories of university graduates are conducted, showcasing how their ideas evolved into reality.
It's noteworthy that Watar FM and Beat FM broadcasted live coverage of the Career Day activities directly from the university campus.
