The President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, launched Ramadan 4th Campaign, in the presence of the University Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Bassam Hammo, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Rami Salem, and a large number of university students.
Dr. Rami Salem appreciated the social initiatives organized by the Community Service Office in the Deanship of Student Affairs as part of the “You Are Good” initiative, which establishes strong relations with the local community and enhances students’ awareness of responsibility and a sense of active citizenship. Dr. Salem pointed out that the Deanship of Student Affairs is keen on establishing such charitable initiatives which reflect a bright image of the university’s extracurricular activities.
Mr. Muhammad Kharoub, the person in charge of the Community Service Office at the Deanship of Student Affairs, explained that since its establishment, the Community Service Office has aimed to engage students in community service, whether by financial aids, or by voluntary participation, realizing that there are many people who seek to support the society.
Kharoub expressed his hope to expand the work of the office in order to provide support for the largest number of needy people and open the doors to all those wishing to give support. He added that this year’s challenge is supporting more students than previous years, and this can only be achieved by the participation of everyone.
It is noteworthy that during Ramadan of 2022, the campaign distributed 400 parcels, held daily Iftar for 50 families, set up three Iftars for orphans, and provided 600 children with some clothing.
