The five-day meeting brought together more than 150 experts from 19 countries, with over 80 attending in person in Amman. This strong international turnout shows the global community’s trust in Jordan’s ability to host important events and highlights the country’s growing role in the future of smart transportation. The meeting is one of the key technical events on ISO’s agenda, helping shape standards for designing, operating, and managing modern transport systems.

University President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija said that Jordan hosting this event shows its strong commitment to the organization’s goals and its ongoing investment in smart infrastructure.

She added that scientific research is a key part of PSUT’s progress. Prof. Abu Elhaija emphasized that the university supports innovation through research and practical projects, following the guidance of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.

Prof. Abu Elhaija said the university looks forward to strengthening ties with global institutions. She hopes this will open new opportunities for cooperation, support the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and promote innovation and progress in various fields to build a sustainable future for both local and global communities.

In her closing remarks, delivered on behalf of the Director General of the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization, Eng. Abeer Alzuhair, the Head of the Standardization Department, Eng. Ghaida Alsabe, emphasized that intelligent transportation systems are essential for addressing environmental challenges and keeping up with modern needs. She added that hosting these meetings is an opportunity to build trust, share knowledge, and support progress.
