King Talal School of Business Technology at PSUT has been granted full membership by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), making it the first business school in Jordan to achieve this prestigious recognition. This membership marks the initial step towards obtaining the internationally recognized European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) accreditation, granted by the European foundation (EFMD).
Dr. George Sammour, the Dean of King Talal School of Business Technology, has confirmed that the school's membership with “EFMD” is a significant step towards obtaining EQUIS accreditation and fulfilling the school's vision and mission of acquiring international accreditation from three renowned bodies in international business and management education. These bodies include the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), which the school has obtained accreditation from in 2020, as well as the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) and the Association of MBAs (AMBA). Achieving triple accreditation represents a remarkable accomplishment, as only 1% of the world's most prestigious universities hold this distinction in business education.
Dr. Sammour provided insights on the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) as an international accreditation system for business schools. Its primary objective is to enhance the quality of education in business administration disciplines around the world. He also added that EQUIS strives to strike a balance between high academic standards and professional relevance derived from close collaboration with global institutions. EQUIS also emphasizes the importance of a learning environment that supports the development of managerial skills, entrepreneurship among students, and a sense of global responsibility. It is noteworthy that less than 2% of business schools worldwide have achieved this accreditation.
It is worth mentioning that “EFMD” is a global European organization based in Brussels, dedicated to management development. It specifically focuses on the quality and development of business schools and academic programmes. The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) also act as a catalyst to promote and enhance the development in the academic and research aspects of business schools globally.
