Princess Sumaya University for Technology Hosts TEDxPSUT 2025 Conference

Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, opened the TEDxPSUT 2025 conference under the theme “The Power Within,” inspired by the renowned TED conference. The event drew wide participation from local and international universities.

The conference aimed to showcase the inner strengths of individuals and the potential for change through a creative and knowledge-driven platform. This year’s sessions focused on understanding emotions and staying strong, building projects that make a difference, and thinking ahead to leave a lasting legacy.

During the opening, University President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija said the conference stands out as a space where ideas inspire change. She noted that the theme, The Power Within, reflects the university’s belief that real change starts from within each person.

Abu Elhaija praised the leadership of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, for her strong support of youth, knowledge, and dialogue, which has helped build a university environment that encourages innovation and events like TEDxPSUT.

Abu Elhaija also highlighted the university’s leading role in the region, being the first to host a TEDxSalon and, in 2024, linking Amman to the world through a TEDxLive broadcast from Vancouver, Canada.

Prof. Abu Elhaija praised the organizing team for being named Best TEDx Team in MENA, participating in TEDx Verona, and representing Arab universities at TED Next in Atlanta as the first team from the Middle East. She said these achievements reflect the impact of believing in and supporting young people’s potential.

Dr. Rami Salem, Dean of Student Affairs, noted that the conference was fully organized by students, following the TED model to encourage cultural awareness and the sharing of valuable ideas.

Student Tala Ghannam, head of the organizing team, thanked University President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija for her ongoing support and trust in student-driven initiatives.

Prof. Abu Elhaija honored the participants and sponsors for their role in the conference’s success. The event was attended by Vice President Prof. Bassam Hammo, a number of deans, faculty members, and students.
