Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, announced the launch of the 16th edition of Global Entrepreneurship Week, organized by the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) in strategic partnership with Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC). The events, which will run until the 24th of this month, will be held through both video and in-person sessions.

Prof. Abu Elhaija expressed pride in the entrepreneurship environment fostered by QRCE since its founding in 2004, with ongoing support from HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, President of the Royal Scientific Society and Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees. She highlighted the role of Global Entrepreneurship Week as an exceptional platform for celebrating innovation and entrepreneurship in Jordan, strengthened by partnerships with 180 organizations.

Speaking at a press conference at Zain Innovation Campus in King Hussein Business Park, Prof. Abu Elhaija emphasized the university's commitment to promoting entrepreneurship, viewing it as key to development. She noted that youth are crucial to this transformation, and the university prioritizes fostering entrepreneurial skills by providing an environment that encourages innovation and supports students in turning ideas into viable projects, offering them the tools, knowledge, and guidance needed for success through the resources of the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship.

Mohammad Obeidat, Director of QRCE at the university, highlighted that Global Entrepreneurship Week is the largest global event celebrating innovators and job creators who launch startups to transform ideas into reality, drive economic growth, and enhance societal prosperity.

Obeidat noted that this year’s activities focus on ecosystems, education, inclusion, and policy across all governorates of Jordan. The program features diverse events, including lectures, workshops, dialogue sessions, and opportunities to network in entrepreneurship and innovation.

Tareq Bitar, Director of Corporate Communications and Sustainability at Zain Jordan, expressed pride in the strategic partnership with the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship at PSUT to launch Global Entrepreneurship Week, a key event for youth and entrepreneurs in Jordan. He noted that ZINC will host activities across its branches, focusing on key areas of entrepreneurship that address market needs and help entrepreneurs develop ideas and projects.

Bitar added that this year’s event coincides with ZINC’s 10th anniversary, marking a decade of empowering entrepreneurs and promoting innovation in Jordan.
