PSUT secured second place in the “Innovation” category of the Huawei ICT Competition Middle East and Central Asia (ME&CA) 2024-2025, held in Riyadh with over 300 students from 19 countries.
The winning team, with the project “3sheqHuawei,” comprised Mohammad Madi, Lafi Odeh, and Kenan Al-Radaideh, supervised by Dr. Ammar Odeh. Their project, focused on “Waste Recycling in Smart Cities,” aims to improve city sustainability and waste management.
University President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija praised the achievement, emphasizing the importance of investing in students and their creative ideas to build a sustainable future. She noted, “This accomplishment reflects the university's commitment to fostering innovation and participation in regional and international forums”.
Prof. Abu Elhaija also expressed pride in the students and professors who contribute to the university's success, underlining the institution’s dedication to supporting creativity and finding solutions to societal challenges, in line with the directives of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.
Dr. Ammar Odeh, Director of the Consultation and Training Center, emphasized how participating in the competition helps support entrepreneurial projects by combining academic knowledge with practical application. He also emphasized that the university provides the necessary support to tackle community challenges.
