PSUT President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, received His Excellency Syrian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Marwan Jamil Al-Halabi and the accompanying delegation, including a number of senior officials from the Ministry during an official visit to the university campus.
During the meeting, attended by PSUT Vice President Prof. Osamah Badarneh, members of the Board of Deans, and concerned Directors, Prof. Abu Elhaija presented an overview of the university’s distinguished journey and its accomplishments at both national and international arenas. The President further highlighted the university’s remarkable progress in academic programs through offering entrepreneurial specializations in the fields of computing, engineering, and business technology.
Prof. Abu Elhaija emphasized that these accomplishments have been possible through the continuous guidance and support of Her Royal Highness Sumaya bint El Hasan, the Chair of the Board of Trustees, whose ambitious vision aspires to build a distinguished generation capable of facing current challenges and creating innovative solutions that serve international communities and achieve Sustainable Development Goals.
She also highlighted the university’s full readiness to harness its academic, research, and technological expertise in support of Syrian Ministry of Education and Scientific Research during the reconstruction phase by contributing to capacity building and the development of educational institutions, promoting progress and sustainable growth.
For his part, Dr. Al-Halabi expressed his admiration and appreciation for the excellence, leadership, and innovation achieved by the university at the global level, commending the forward-looking vision of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan.
Dr. Al-Halabi also indicated the Ministry’s interest in benefiting from the university’s expertise and distinguished experience, particularly in specialized programs that keep pace with global changes, in addition to admission testing systems and short training courses aimed at building and developing capabilities.
On the sidelines of the visit, the delegation toured the Venture Lab, where they reviewed a selection of projects developed and presented by students and faculty members from various disciplines in computing, engineering, and business technology.
