Princess Sumaya University for Technology Launches Second Cohort of PSUT Venture Lab Program

Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) has launched the second cohort of the PSUT Venture Lab program. Operated under the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship, the program helps students turn academic projects into practical ventures.

The university’s president, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, said the Venture Lab program reflects PSUT’s goal of promoting innovation and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship. It aims to develop projects that address real-life challenges, with a strong focus on scientific research and development.

Prof. Abu Elhaija shared that last year’s program successfully tackled challenges presented by the local community. She noted that the first cohort encouraged students to think creatively and come up with unique ideas.

She also emphasized the role of the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the program, in turning these ideas into practical projects or products with expert guidance and support. This collaboration highlights the program’s positive impact on both students and society.

Prof. Abu Elhaija added that faculty members also contribute to the program, turning their ideas into real solutions that go beyond academic publications. This approach helps demonstrate the spirit of innovation at PSUT and the university’s focus on applying knowledge to solve real-world problems.

The program coordinator, Mohannad Taslaq, explained that the program funds several projects, with each receiving 10,000 Jordanian dinars to develop and implement the project. This support includes providing the tools needed to overcome challenges faced by young entrepreneurs, such as networking with investors and business owners, with a focus on local and regional market needs.

Eng. Mohammad Amoura added that the PSUT Venture Lab program is not just a training program but a complete platform that helps PSUT students confidently enter the business world and achieve their entrepreneurial goals.

At the launch of the second cohort, two notable projects, TalentSpace.Ai and Onqoud, were showcased for their innovative ideas in artificial intelligence.

Regarding the TalentSpace.Ai project, co-founder and Master’s student Mohannad Al-Souqi explained that it is an AI-driven recruitment platform that matches labor market needs with available talent. Meanwhile, Mohammad Doleh, CEO of Onqoud, shared that their platform provides business intelligence solutions for restaurants and cafes by analyzing data from both internal sources and external sources.
