TEDx PSUT Conference

What does TED stand for?

TED is an acronym that stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short but powerful speeches. TED started in 1984 and today it has extended to cover all sorts of topics in more than 100 languages.

The TEDx program brings the spirit of TED's main idea, "ideas worth spreading", to communities around the world. TEDx events are organized by individuals who seek to come up with new ideas and spread and promote conversations in their own community. Events are organized independently under a free license granted by TED to universities.

PSUT’s TED Conference

It is a conference organized by a group of enthusiastic university students to spread ideas and creative works among Jordanian youth, and to shed light on the success stories of these young people in a passionate way, reflecting the spirit of creativity and innovation. A group of distinguished Jordanian speakers is selected to relate their success stories. Each speaker discusses their goals and the challenges that they faced in order to achieve their objectives. Student TEDx teams form special committees to work on organizing the conference, starting with obtaining the required international license. They provide all the necessary equipment to set up the conference at the PSUT campus within the international specifications of the conference. Conferences were held in both 2018 and 2020.
