Two teams from Princess Sumaya University for Technology clinched second and third places in the Huawei ICT Competition 2023/2024, organized by Huawei/China. Over 170,000 students from more than 2,000 universities across 80 countries participated.
The first team, consisting of students Sarah Maher and Nizar Daradkeh, won second place in the ICT Computing category. The second team, comprising students Mohammad Khawaja, Mohammad Madi, and Qusay Abdo, won third place in the Innovation category, under the supervision of Dr. Ammar Odeh, Director of the Consultation and Training Center.
University President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija congratulated the winning teams and their supervisor, highlighting that these achievements reflect the university’s scientific excellence and innovation. She expressed pride in the students and their role in international competitions.
Prof. Abu Elhaija emphasized the importance of supporting students and fostering an environment for skill and creativity development, in line with the directives of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El-Hassan, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, to promote innovation and leadership in higher education.
Competition supervisor Dr. Ammar Odeh stated that the competition aims to help students develop creative ideas using Huawei applications, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, and enhances their technological skills and capabilities.
