Speaking on behalf of the university president, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, the director of the External Relations Unit, Dr. Sufyan Al-Majali, said that PSUT is widely recognized as one of the leading universities in Jordan in adopting Erasmus+ programs and was among the first to apply the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).
He added that international academic mobility is more than student or staff exchange; it is a key part of modern higher education that strengthens mutual understanding, builds international partnerships, and prepares future leaders and innovators. It also reinforces PSUT’s global presence and commitment to diversity, academic excellence, and international engagement.
Prof. Ahmed Abu Elhaija, Director of the National Erasmus+ Office in Jordan, said that since 2015, the Erasmus+ program has supported over 8,000 academic mobility opportunities between Jordanian higher education institutions and European partners, benefiting students, faculty, and staff. He noted this has improved the competitiveness of Jordanian institutions and their engagement with global experiences. Dr. Abu Elhaija emphasized the annual meeting’ role in building capacity to manage International Academic Mobility projects and thanked the European Union for its ongoing support of higher education.
