The Accounting Department at Princess Sumaya University for Technology held Accounting Day event: From Ledgers to Legends-Celebrating Accountancy Excellence, in the presence of the Dean of King Talal School of Business Technology, Dr. George Sammour, department heads at the school, professors and students from the Accounting Department, and other guests, with the aim of introducing students to various aspects of the accounting profession, its practical applications, developments, and career opportunities.
During the meeting, experienced professionals in the field of accounting discussed developments in the profession and the various career opportunities available to graduates of the department.
During the Accounting Day event, Dr. Radhi Al Hamadeen, President of the Audit Bureau, discussed the bureau's role in overseeing public finances and providing accounting advice to supervised agencies. Mr. Mazen Wathaifi, CEO of the Amman Stock Exchange, highlighted the exchange's importance in facilitating securities trading and ensuring a secure market environment.
Ernst & Young Jordan partners Ali Samara, Mohammad Al Lawzi, and Amer Maraqa outlined the company's global professional services, including financial auditing, tax consulting, and commercial transactions. They also emphasized opportunities for university graduates.
Suhaib Al Tal, representing the Arab Potash Company, emphasized the significance of investment funds in local and international economic development.
The event also featured a dialogue session with successful graduates discussing their professional journeys after leaving Princess Sumaya University for Technology. Student competitions, sponsored by Zain Company, Sarh Groups, and the Accounting Department Student Club, were held.
Dr. George Sammour, Dean of the School, and Dr. Anan Srouji, Head of the Accounting Department, concluded the event by presenting certificates of appreciation to the guests.
