The 14th Global Entrepreneurship Week 2022 concluded on Wednesday under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya Bint El Hassan, Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT).
Princess Sumaya gave a closing speech at the event, which was organized by the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) in collaboration with Zain-ZINC Jordan's platform, and was delivered on her behalf by the PSUT's Acting President, Wijdan Abul Haija. She emphasized that Global Entrepreneurship Week provides a platform for successful, creative, and outstanding individuals from various fields to share their best work with others.
Regardless of the magnitude of a feat, it is nonetheless a feat worthy of being shared. Her Highness emphasized, noting that pioneering goals may be deemed impossible by some, but that having faith in the abilities of youth is an essential part of preparing for a prosperous future.
She added that the Global Entrepreneurship Week is an exceptional opportunity to learn about the challenges and needs of other global markets, allowing young people to gain a better understanding of the characteristics of global markets and thus overcome the relatively limited local job market.
Princess Sumaya indicated that universities will serve as a hub for developing innovative and commercially viable solutions to the greatest existential, social, and economic challenges, such as climate change, clean energy, fresh water, food security, cancer, autism, and infectious diseases.
She pointed out that universities are a place that helps develop innovation and entrepreneurship organically, and that connecting talented individuals and working together as part of research teams to examine challenges makes them more efficient.
Her Highness thanked the QRCE team and supporting partners for their hard work in making the 14th Global Entrepreneurship Week a success.
Muhammad Obeidat, director of the QRCE at PSUT, emphasized the significance of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, which brings together institutions of Jordan's entrepreneurship system to celebrate Jordanian entrepreneurs, provide them with guidance, and provide them with opportunities to support the entrepreneurship process.
For his part, Tareq Bitar, Executive Director of the Media, Communication, Innovation and Sustainability Department at Zain Jordan, praised the large number of Jordanian youths who attended the event, citing it as evidence of their interest in creativity and innovation.
The activities of the week, which lasted from November 14th to November 20th, focused on several topics, including environmental systems, education, inclusion, and politics. Ninety partners took part in nearly 500 events, both in person and virtually.
The Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world's largest celebration of innovators and job creators who launch startups to bring their ideas to life and drive economic growth by organizing thousands of events and competitions around the world with the goal of inspiring millions to engage in entrepreneurial activity.
