Hazem Al-Kayyali, a student at Princess Sumaya University for Technology, won the Asian silver medal in the 84-weight mixed martial arts competition held in Tajikistan.
The Acting President of the University, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, congratulated Al-Kayyali on his athletic excellence, stressing his ability to balance between study and sports, which, in turn, achieves the directives of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El-Hassan, Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees, in supporting extracurricular activities that sharpen students’ skills and motivate them to have a spirit of competition and teamwork.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Rami Salem, also congratulated Al-Kayali on his achievement and efforts that supported his great talent while preserving his academic career.
It is noteworthy that Kayali, majoring in business administration at King Talal School of Business Technology, won the World Championship in Mixed Martial Arts that was held in Prague last year. He is also the champion of the Jordan and Jordanian universities in his weight of the jiu-jitsu sport.
