Every year, the AACSB International association for accreditation assesses the initiatives of international business schools. This year, King Talal School of Business Technology at PSUT has made it to this distinguished global evaluation "Innovations That Inspire 2023" list, was recently announced in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
The school announced the initiative “Towards a Real Sustainable and Transformative Future,” which outlined the actions and activities undertaken by King Talal school of Business Technology and the university to realize the United Nations' “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs).
As part of this initiative, the school created and released the Sustainable Development Report for 2022, and established the SDGs Student Club. Through this club, students brought attention to critical issues facing Jordan, such as water scarcity, food security, environmental pollution, and more, while also proposing solutions to tackle these challenges.
To create awareness among students and to spread a culture of social responsibility when they enter the labor market, the school has also linked the learning outcomes of its teaching programs and academic courses to the Sustainable Development Goals. This aims to encourage students to embrace sustainable practices throughout their education and professional careers.
The University President, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, extended her congratulations to King Talal School of Business Technology for this prestigious international recognition, which is another addition to the school's growing list of achievements. The school is continually strives to enhance its academic and knowledge fields to realize its vision of becoming a leading business school in Jordan, the region, and the world. Moreover, the school remains committed to its mission of graduating students who are well-equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills in business and technology, enabling them to compete effectively, meet the demands of the job market, and keep pace with the evolving career needs.
Prof. Abu Elhaija appreciated the college's endeavors and commitment to presenting all that is in line with the changes and developments in the job market in a creative and entrepreneurial manner.
The Dean of the School, Dr. George Sammour, emphasized that the college and the university are continuously striving to achieve international recognition by providing exceptional programs that are associated with the most significant international accreditations. This objective aims to prepare a new generation of young entrepreneurs with diversified backgrounds and specializations.
Caryn Beck-Dudley, the CEO of AACSB International association, praised the college's initiative, stating: “The requirements of the new business environment and relevant stakeholders require business schools to rethink and propose innovative initiatives”. She added that the “Towards a Real Sustainable and Transformative Future” initiative adopted by King Talal School of Business at PSUT represents a new and innovative methodology for education in business disciplines. By leveraging innovation to produce shared knowledge and developing new learning methods and expanding access to education, business schools can meet the expectations of the job market and increase added value for the business environment, students, and society.”
It is noteworthy that, the school has obtained AACSB international accreditation, making it one of 5% of the world’s universities and 2% of the world’s universities outside of the United States of America, as well as the first Jordanian university to obtain this accreditation. Furthermore, the school has also been accredited by the CIM for its E-Marketing and Social Media program.
